The Valley Pool
There are some places that no-one knows. This is one of them. Its not that people do not explore the area, they do, but when they discover this pool, they think the only way to get to it is on a difficult trail. In this document, if you choose to unlock it, I will tell you a secret. I will tell you how to reach a place quickly and easily. You will be able to drive out of Cape Town, and spend a day in the middle of the wilderness with a beautiful deep pool to enjoy.
Above you the mountains rise, providing a dramatic backdrop. Jump in from the centre rock, where you can rest with your towel and a good book, and you will find that its easily three metres and more, throughout its length, but is so crystal clear, you can see all the rocks on the bottom. Take a sip of its water for its 100% pure. No chlorine, no chemicals, no processing, just crystal water from the mountain.
On one side a small waterfall comes into the pool. Choose a jumping spot, from around the pool, and enjoy the feeling of adventure.
The pool is really spectacular. If you are looking for a place to spend a day, in beautiful surroundings, with water temperature that is really swimmable, this is it.
That is the beauty of the Cape Mountains, in summer the pools warm up, and are frequently above 20 degrees Celsius making swimming a great activity.
The route described here is not too difficult. It can be done by even the younger crowd, and from your car, should not take you more than twenty minutes
Once you are there you cannot hear or see other people, its just you, the pool, the mountains and the rocks. This pool is at least four or five metres deep throughout its length. Its about about fifty metres long, and about 10-15 metres wide.
It requires a permit to visit, which is easily obtainable.
