Boulders Beach

Boulders Beach
This is the only paid beach in Cape Town. Its small and in demand by tourists so arrive early to gain the most from it. An amazing place for swimming, sun bathing and watching penguins close up or swimming with them. A real treat for the whole family, except dont let junior get to close to those penguins.

This beach is of course, very popular amongst tourists and locals alike, and in the main season, December 15th to Jan 10th, it will become extremely crowded. The preferred times will be very early at say 7am, or later in the day during the last hour of sunlight.

As this is part of National Parks, there are good facilities, both in the `reserve` section and in the beach, swimming section. There is a restaurant (up market) at the entrance, tourist shops, and arts and crafts. This beach is not far from the Main Road through Simons town, so its easy to pick up suitable eats at a convenience store before visiting.

A Map is provided at the bottom of this page, which enables you to find this beautiful beach.
