Lions Head

Lions Head
This hike is famous, and is a must do for many who come to Cape Town. Its great for a sunset and is often combined with a full moon, so that its easier to descend in the dark.

Basic hiking wisdom MUST be followed.
  1. Carry liquid as there is no water on the mountain. About one and a half to two litres per person on a hot summer day.
  2. Wear good walking shoes.
  3. Wear a Hat/Cap. Heatstroke is a real problem
  4. Carry a good torch or head lamp per person if you are aiming for sunset
  5. This is not a running peak. Too many cliffs that you could overstep, and fatalities to go with it
  6. Generally avoid the chains by going left at their base. The chains are a bottle neck anyway and the weaker individuals in your party may struggle
  7. Be wise with the alchohol. You might think you are superman and want to show your girlfriend how fast you can fly down..:)
