Silvermine Waterfall

Silvermine Waterfall
The Silvermine Waterfall is an easy walk to a beautiful place. It takes about maximum thirty minutes to walk to the falls. Its a pleasant walk where sunbirds flitter around the flowers, and is not too strenuous.

Silvermine Waterfall Start

The walk starts at the top of Ou Kaapse Weg, which is about 35 minutes from Cape Town. There is safe parking, in exchange for a small fee

Duration

The walk is about 30 minutes one direction at a slower pace.

Route to Silvermine Waterfall

The Road takes you to above the waterfall, which will be below you. At this point you descend to the waterfall for about five minutes. You can choose to sit at the top of the waterfall or take the path to the bottom. Both are beautiful spots.

Personal Safety

The walk to the waterfall is considered safe. Its extremely unlikely to find anyone who is not there just to enjoy nature.

Hiking Safety

The only area where you have to be careful is sitting near the edge of the waterfall or going to the bottom of the waterfall.

Quantity of Water

The quantity of water of course, is very dependant on the last rains, so it is far more attractive from the months of June to September but it is still and enjoyable outing in either case.

Of course if you suddenly get rain in the middle of summer, its a great place to visit.
