Junction Pool

Junction Pool
Happy Valley day walk to junction pool is a beautiful walk that is often misunderstood or confusing. This document is to help you gain the most from the walk.

The walk takes in some marvelous scenery. It has spectacular cliffs that drop down to a wild valley. It winds its way up a road, and then a path next to the river and has no serious crossings to contend with.

Junction Pool is apparently one of the few places here where Brown Trout remain. Trout are an alien species in this region, so Cape Nature is trying to reduce having them in the rivers, but there are still trout in these upper regions of the river.

The great thing about this walk is the swimming. However you will need to recognise the pool when you see it. It might sound strange to you, as who misses a pool, but in this walk many, many people do.
